PVC window prices: what you pay for, and how to compare quotes

You have two quotes for replacing the windows, and the difference in price is large enough to be confusing. Both say “PVC windows”, the sizes look the same, and the photographs do not reveal much. How, then, do you judge which is the better value? The price of a PVC window depends on the exact configuration and on the scope of the work. The sizes, the opening style, the profile, the glazing, the colour, and the equipment have to be comparable before you compare the final amount. The most useful quote is the one from which you can see clearly what you get for each opening in your home.

What a PVC window costs: an example from the price list

For a first guide you can look at the Danito PVC window price list. When this article was prepared, on 10 September 2026, the following examples were listed for white windows:

Size and number of sashesVEKA 70GEALAN 74MDVEKA 82MD
60 × 60 cm, one sash102 €102 €125 €
80 × 120 cm, one sash148 €148 €193 €
120 × 140 cm, two sashes250 €250 €331 €

The prices include VAT and exclude installation. For VEKA 82MD the price list states triple glazing as standard. The final amount depends on the configuration chosen. For current prices and conditions, the price list in force and the written quote are what count.

Size and opening: the same opening, different solutions

A window 120 centimetres wide can be imagined in several ways. What matters is how many parts need to open, which way, and whether you want tilt opening. Those decisions affect the construction and the price.

Before you ask for a quote, think about how you use the room. Does the tap get in the way of a kitchen sash? Would an open window hit a wardrobe? Can you reach the outside of the glass to clean it? A fixed section makes sense only where it suits you and where maintenance is sorted.

So send a simple sketch with the sizes. It does not have to be a technical drawing: it is enough to mark the opening you want and to write which room the window belongs to.

The profile, the glazing, and the hardware have to be stated

Phrases such as “a quality profile” and “good glass” are not enough for a comparison. Ask for the exact name of the system, the make-up of the glazed unit, and a description of the hardware and the opening functions.

On the profile, do not decide by the number of chambers alone. If insulation is the priority, ask for the figures for the complete window in the configuration offered. On the glass, make clear whether the quote includes a double or a triple unit, and whether you asked for extra protection from the sun or from noise.

Be precise about the colour as well: white on both sides, a decor on the outside only, or a decor on both sides are not the same line. A photograph of the shade you want helps the conversation, but finish the choice against the matching sample.

What is charged separately

Before you accept a quote, check whether it covers:

Do not assume that one word, such as “installation”, includes all of these jobs. Ask for the scope to be written down. That makes both the cost and the order of the work easier to plan.

How to get a quote that is useful to you

Prepare the number of openings, approximate sizes, photographs of the existing state, the location of the building, and the date you would like. Add what bothers you most at the moment: a window that is hard to open, cold beside the window, street noise, or not enough shading.

Sizes you take yourself are for the first conversation. Production sizes should be established by a professional measurement on site.
